NCI Awarded FBI/JTTF Food Safety Film Project
KANSAS, May 15, 2006 – NCI Communications, Inc. today was awarded a contract to produce a film to kick off the second annual International Symposium on Agroterror (ISA) slated for September 25-29 in Kansas City, MO.
“The goal is to lay the groundwork for the weeklong discussion of food safety and the beef industry,” said NCI President Jim Chesnutt. “This film will be used to set the tone, provide background on the US beef industry for international attendees and perhaps even get a laugh or two,” Chesnutt said, noting that the film’s narrator will be NPR contributor, humorist and former large animal veterinarian Baxter Black.
ISA 2006 will focus on the need to closely communicate and coordinate among private industry, law enforcement, government agencies, science, academic and health and medical professions and the International community in order to protect the global food supply. Topics to be discussed include physical security, bio-security, intelligence and information sharing, economic and trade concerns, and transportation issues.
More than 1000 people are already registered for ISA 2006 representing 22 countries. FBI Deputy Director John S. Pistole will deliver the opening keynote address. The FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force are presenting the event.
