HANDS ALONG THE NILE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
Cultivating peace and sustainable development in the Middle East
IT IS HARD TO IMAGINE A TOUGHER JOB than building bridges between the people of a Middle Eastern country and everyday people in the US. HANDS Along the Nile is striving to do just that.
“A key to bringing stability to this region is empowering communities to tackle their own problems through participatory decision–making and responsible self-governance,” said Jennifer Cate, HANDS Executive Director. “We focus on a Egypt because it is a leading country in that part of the world and because we know that it serves as an example for many others in the region.”
In addition to programs aimed at bringing Americans and Egyptians together face-to-face to exchange of ideas and dialogue, HANDS also supports projects that encourage socioeconomic stability in Egyptian communities.
HANDS retained NCI to produce a video to support outreach, fundraising and to be featured at a conference on cultivating peace in the Middle East. The event was hosted by the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, DC and HANDS. NCI also conducted an extensive photo documentation project to build a library of images for use in newsletters, annual reports, fund raising campaigns and on the web.
