Federal Transit Administration/National Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP)
Training the nation's transit providers
We depend on them to get us to the store, to doctor appointments, to visit family and friends. They are the heart of public transportation and our safety is in their hands.
That’s why the Federal Transit Administration’s National Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) looked to Colorado based Communiqué USA and NCI Communications, Inc. to produce two new multimedia training packages for the nation’s transit providers.
The project involves producing two training packages featuring revised student texts and an accompanying interactive DVD training package. One package focuses on the roles and responsibilities of transit board members while the other highlights safety and security procedures for transit operators.
The products feature current industry best practices, interviews with industry leaders, short videos, and interactive graphics and tests.
“The beauty of interactive training is people can experience the material in a much more engaging way,” said Mark Amann, NCI Vice President. “You read the content, explore images and interactive graphics, watch videos that reinforce key concepts and listen to words of wisdom from industry leaders.”
Both training packages were unveiled at the Spring 2008 Community Transportation Association of America conference.
